Creativity is good for you. It has a positive impact on both physical and mental health. It's this aspect of what we do that makes us a great choice because we think carefully about this when we design our sewing course content.
We teach as a team and keep our group sizes limited. Everyone has as much of our input as possible in our sewing classes to allow people to sew at their own pace. This varies, depending on the setting. We have the right DBS checks in place and appropriate policies and risk assessments to allow us to teach children and vulnerable adults.
You'll have access to a range of sewing equipment as part of the course fee, and we always give clear instructions regarding additional materials that participants will need to bring. We own a number of Singer Heavy Duty sewing machines but we welcome people using their own machines if they would prefer.
Join us for one of our bookable sessions, or contact us for something at a location of your choice (we are happy to travel outside Bristol) and/or specifically tailored to your needs.
We love helping people to build their confidence and try new sewing methods.
We run an extensive programme of sewing classes and workshops in Downend, North Bristol and South Gloucestershire. For a more rural experience, we also run sewing lessons in Compton Martin in the Chew Valley.
Classes are tailored to accommodate different skill levels, from basic to advanced and offer the opportunity to learn new techniques.
Participants tell us they appreciate our relaxed, friendly, and supportive style of teaching.
A private lesson is an excellent way to learn how to sew with 1:1 support. We teach a range of ages and abilities tailored to your own sewing goals. And we love working with people who are living with autism.
There's a whole host of different creative activities that we can facilitate, depending on what you want to achieve.
That might be a quick, fun, easier make, or a more ambitious project to make something that can be kept and treasured.
1:1s are a great way to get to know a new sewing machine or one that's been hiding in a cupboard. We can support you as you build your confidence.
We can also run effective sewing workshops and group sessions for charities and organisations.
It might be that you want to offer the therapy of creativity to beneficiaries of your service.
Or it could be that you're looking for a workshop that will help bring together a team or an idea.
We come with lots of experience in strategy and communications : Rachel in the not-for-profit secor and Sarah in finance.
Whatever you need, we'd love to help.
